These were short films of musical selection  usually it is just a band on a bandstand made fro playing. Thousands of these were made. They were mainly created for Jazz musicians but also torch singers and dancers. Surprisingly comedians used these too.

The first ever Soundies were created in black and white. This is what started a change in music videos because from then on, they have developed into the promotional videos for artists that promises a more cinematographic experience ever.

Jukeboxes were in restaurants and bars and when people inserted money they watched the video while the music played. Below is an example of one of the jukeboxes they had. This is also a change because now  we have the internet where we can access all the music we want whenever we want. We also have the radio where we can listen to the music. Music videos are commonly played on tv channels like MTV to promote the artist.
