MTV history and the history of music video's
MTV launched on the 1st of August 1981 and the main channel is in New York and the purpose of it at the beginning was music channel which played music videos guided by air hosts which they called Video Jockeys which was the central location for music events, news, and promotion. MTV has also been referenced countless times in popular culture by musicians, other TV channels and shows, films, and books.
The first music video shown on MTV was “Video killed the radio star by the Buggles.

The company was created by Robert W Pittman who then became the president of the company .On the first day they played at total of 87 music videos. He oversaw the creation and growth of MTV.
Since then MTV has now started to show some focus on reality shows like ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’'. MTV now has broadened into other shows like MTV Base, MTV hits, MTV+1, MTV Dance. MTV is now available in many countries like Ukraine, Turkey and Poland.
