Types of music videos
There are 3 main types of music videos and they are all differtrent and they are :
Performance based videos are videos that artists/ bands either do performing to the camera or to a audience. This is mainly used with rock bands as they find this more interesting for the viewer and they are normally full of energy. An example of this is Avril Lavigne ‘complicated’
Performance based music videos
Narrative based music videos
Narrative videos is when there is a narrative to the song which relates to the lyrics as well. They normally use this to engage the audience to watch the music video. They also use some of the cuts of the video if the song is featured in a song.An example of this is the song ‘Bennie and the Jets’ .
Another example of this type of music video is 'Animal' by Conor Maynard.
Another example of this type of music video is Justin Beiber's song 'As long as you love me'
Concept based music videos
Concept based music videos are sometimes unusual as they are based on a main concept . However you do sometimes get one’s that don’t entirely consist of one concept. They also seem to have one main editing technique. An example of this is Goyle song :somebody I used to know.
