1990's

In the 1990s, the genres of dance-pop and teen pop continued to grow. Hip hop also started to grow and it soon started to become a success in the decade. Urban music started to blend with styles like soul, funk and Jazz. This then started new genres like Hip Hop soul, neo-soul and more. Rock music was also a very popular choice in this decade

2000's

Hip hop and contemporary R&B remained a high success throughout the decade. In the 2000s no new styles were created with except a few indie style music. Rock was once again very popular and throughout the world R&B was becoming more popular. Pop became more commercially successful than any other form of popular music by the late 2000’s due to the recession.
