Question 4

Technologies are indispensable. Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit the whole music video where I sequenced the clips on the timeline which have been cropped. I have also learnt how to use a range of effects and transitions. One that I used in between some shots has been cross dissolve and I used black and white effects and slow motion to add meaning to the narrative of my video. I also learnt how to add brightness and contrast as well as to zoom in on specific shots in order to emphasise a point or ideas. For example in this shot, I slowed down the action of the petals in the water adding a cross dissolve to smoothly move from one shot to another.

At the level of photography, I used a DSLR camera to take pictures of my artist which I used on my digipak and poster. To make these products look professional and comparable to real texts, we were introduced to Adobe Photoshop. I used a range of layers as well as colour contrast to get the right coloration for my products. I was also able to crop and trim photos after which I added effects to them so that they suited the product being advertised. It was through Adobe Photoshop practice that I have become more comfortable to create the magazine advertisement. I understood how the positioning of texts and pictures contributed to the overall representation of ideas. I also had to look for the appropriate background picture for my magazine advert and making sure colour scheme and font worked well and not clashed to keep to the right representation of ideas.

I have selected the clip that I wanted.

Now that I have selected the clip I right clicked so that this menu came up. I went to speed and duration and clicked on it.

This menu came up.

This screenshot shows that I have changed the speed to 30%.

This screenshot shows that the length has increased due to the speed of the clip.

I have gone up to the top and I have clicked on the button that said essential and clicked on it and I have a range of options come up at the side.

This is the original picture on the  digipak but to keep into the theme of the music video I need to turn it black and white.

This is the outcome once  I selected black and white and you can see that it now fits my black and white theme.

I have gone to the one that said black and white and selected it so it should make my picture blak and white.
